Today marks the beginning of a new month and as many of us prepare for Christmas and celebrate our Saviour Jesus Christ.
We at Wholefood Savvy are reminding ourselves to stop and be grateful.
We are sure you have something or someone to be grateful each day.
Will you join us to share something on our Facebook page with #iamgrateful @wholefoodsavvy and help us to spread the word and make an impact in your world?
Research shows that when we are grateful we can change our whole life.
Here are 7 scientifically proven things gratefulness might improve
1.Gratitude opens the door to more relationships.
Experiment with saying thank you and acknowledging people even if you don’t think they deserve it. Write someone a quick note.
2.Gratitude improves physical health.
Take note of how your body feels if you are experiencing aches and pains. Grateful people tend to be more mindful of their body, to exercise and take better care of their body
3.Gratitude improves psychological health.
Negativity releases many toxins through negative emotions into the body. Gratitude improves well being, happiness and depression
4.Gratitude enhances empathy and reduces aggression
5.Gratitude improves sleep
6.Gratitude improves mental strength
7.Gratitude improves self esteem
When I was going through a difficult period in my life I couldn’t find anything to change around me so I decided that I could change what was within and I decided to start finding things to be grateful for.
Here are some simple examples
‘I am thankful that I woke up to take another breath today’
‘I am thankful for my amazing and supportive husband’
‘I am thankful for children who love us’
‘I am thankful for a comfy bed’
‘I am thankful that I have clean water to drink’
‘I am thankful that water comes out when I turn on the tap’
What to do next?
Why not start a journal and write 3 things that you are thankful for either at the start of the day or before you go to bed. Find good things to focus on and when you look back you will notice how things have changed. #Iamgrateful
